Dr. Andrew Gabriel is teaching two foundational seminary courses that invite students to think deeply about their faith. Theological Foundations explores the core beliefs of Christianity and why they matter, while The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit examines the Spirit’s ongoing work in the life of believers and the church. Together, these courses provide a strong theological framework for faithful Christian living and ministry.

Theological Foundations

In Theological Foundations, students explore the essential doctrines of the Christian faith and learn how these truths shape the way we see God, ourselves, and the world around us.

This course provides a framework for understanding the Christian story while helping students think carefully about the beliefs that guide ministry and everyday discipleship. Whether you’re preparing for leadership or simply want a stronger foundation for your faith, this course offers the tools to engage theology with both confidence and humility.

SYLLABI:

The Person & Work of the Holy Spirit

Dr. Gabriel also teaches The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit, a course that explores one of the most dynamic and sometimes misunderstood areas of Christian theology.

This course is an in-depth study of the person and work of the Holy Spirit, with particular attention to a Pentecostal interpretation and its emphasis on missional empowerment. Topics include the gifts of the Spirit, Spirit baptism, and the doctrine of divine healing. Students construct and critically evaluate arguments and practices related to pneumatology.

In this course, you will:

  • Describe and evaluate a classical Pentecostal understanding of Spirit baptism.
  • Describe and evaluate global and contextual theologies of the Holy Spirit.
  • Construct a sustained and in-depth theological argument regarding an aspect of pneumatology.
  • Discern the Holy Spirit at work in your personal life, the Church, and the world at large.
  • Describe your spiritual gifts and evaluate their use of them.

What you believe shapes how you live. That’s why understanding theology matters—not simply as an academic pursuit, but as a way of growing in faith and faithfully following Christ. Through Theological Foundations and The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Andrew Gabriel helps you explore the core truths of Christianity and discover how sound theology transforms both everyday life and ministry.
