Horizon delivers courses to you in a variety of ways:
Modules allow you to take the classroom portion of an entire course in only 5 days. Following the module, you have six weeks to complete assignments and coursework. This is a great option if you only have limited time to study!
Term courses run 90 minutes/day, Monday-Thursday, for 5 weeks. The 6th week is set aside for you to complete any revisions to assignments so they can meet competency. This style is great if you work and can be excused for a couple hours a day to study!
Semester courses meet twice per week over a 4-month semester (September-December or January-April). These courses typically meet for 90 minute blocks on Mondays and Wednesdays, though we occasionally run weekly evening courses in 3-hour blocks. Another option if you work and can be excused for a couple hours of study a few times per week!
You can join many of Horizon’s courses from anywhere in the world by live stream over the internet. This is ideal if you want to study at Horizon from a distance. There are some limitations, and live streaming requires you to have adequate internet on your end. Ask our registrar’s office if you see something you’d like to take! firstname.lastname@example.org
We’ve made several Horizon courses available by video, enabling you to take courses even if you can’t live stream or join live when a course is running on campus. Check with our registrar’s office if you see something you’d like to take! email@example.com
If onsite, live stream, or recorded courses aren’t options for you, Horizon faculty are often able to work with you to customize a course into a one-on-one learning experience. Often these opportunities come from direct conversation with the faculty, but you can also check for options with our registrar. firstname.lastname@example.org
