Horizon College & Seminary
Our goal and focus at Horizon is to prepare leaders for Christian life and ministry, whether that ministry be volunteer or professional. We aim to make our students better and more reflective thinkers about God and about Christian responsibility in our world. We aim to equip our students to be skilled practitioners of the Christian faith, ready for hands-on ministry in the local church and other settings. Whether you’re preparing for professional ministry or are planning to transfer classes to the University of Saskatchewan or to go on to another vocation, it’s essential to us that each student at Horizon more intimately develops her or his personal relationship with God. More specifically, though, our aim is to prepare you to live out that relationship concretely, practicing real-life, hands-on Christianity.
Horizon College & Seminary is dedicated to preparing competent Christian leaders. Located in Saskatoon, one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, Horizon offers degree programs in Pastoral Leadership and Christian Studies.
Horizon is one of the first evangelical schools to offer a Competency-Based Education model. This forward-thinking model provides our students with an innovative and practical education that prepares them to impact the Kingdom as highly-sought-after and effective leaders in the church.
Pastoral Leadership Track
Horizon’s Pastoral Leadership Track offers unique programming for 1-4 years. Each year focuses on specific skills and training to grow your understanding of yourself, the Church, and how you fit in as a leader in professional ministry.

Horizon president Jeromey Martini explains competency-based education (CBE) as one that bases its teaching curriculum on actual roles in society and then assesses students on their ability to perform those roles.
