Need help in the library?

Students can get in touch with our Library Technician regarding any number of queries, such as help searching the Digital Theological Library, someone to brainstorm with to decide on a topic for a research paper, how to find books in the catalogue, etc. Make an appointment, either video or in person, by emailing Richelle at library@horizon.edu.

Textbooks

Students are required to purchase their textbooks or access their textbooks on the Digital Theological Library (DTL) prior to the start of each class. In the case of module classes, students may need to access their textbooks earlier in order to complete pre-course reading. While students have the benefit of accessing many of their textbooks online through the Digital Theological Library, they will not have access to the Digital Theological Library upon graduation. Therefore, we encourage students to purchase select textbooks to build their personal library.

To purchase textbooks:

  1. Confirm which courses you are registered for. Register for courses by contacting the Registrar’s office.
  2. Identify required textbooks from your syllabi or see the list of required books below on this page. Note the book title, author(s), edition, and ISBN number.
  3. Order your textbooks. We have partnered with Kennedy’s Parable to order textbooks. They do not stock our textbooks, but you can order online at www.kennedysparable.com. You are free to purchase your textbooks from other online vendors, such as Amazon, as well.
  4. Be sure to order your textbooks well in advance. Pay attention to the shipping time estimate on the vendor site. Students are responsible for resolving any problems with vendors.

The library will only have ONE COPY of each required textbook on reserve. Kennedy’s Parable does not stock our textbooks. You must order online. Order your textbooks well in advance of your courses to ensure you have them on time!
