Seminary Programs
Equipping you to serve the church and world.
Horizon Seminary equips both seasoned and aspiring Christian leaders to serve the church and world through thoughtful engagement in graduate-level biblical and theological studies, ministry and leadership training, and hands-on contextualized learning.
Graduate Degree Programs
New Opportunity with The YWC Coalition for Youth Ministry Leadership
Students who fulfill the graduate-level requirements of the Coalition program may receive up to 30 graduate (seminary) credits at Horizon Seminary. Credit may be used to fulfill part of the requirements for the Master of Divinity degree or the Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership degree.
Graduate Certificate & Diploma Programs
Horizon Seminary offers graduate certificates in different areas of specialized study. Each of these six-course certificates provide students with the opportunity to hone their knowledge and skills in a specific area, which can be later applied to a degree program.
Degree Partnerships & Accreditation
Horizon College & Seminary is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) Commission on Accreditation to grant certificates, diplomas, and degrees at the Master’s level. Besides offering our own programming, Horizon Seminary has extensive transfer agreements with three seminaries that are accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (Briercrest Seminary, Providence Theological Seminary, and MB Biblical Seminary). This arrangement makes it possible for Horizon Seminary students to transfer into a number of different programs at other seminaries:
- MA Theological Studies (Briercrest, Providence)
- MA Educational Studies (Providence)
- Master of Divinity (Briercrest, Providence, MB Seminary)
- Master of Christian Ministry (Briercrest)
- Master of Counselling or MA Marriage & Family Therapy (Providence, Briercrest; up to six courses)
In addition, Horizon has a longstanding agreement in partnership with Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) and the Saskatoon Theological Union (STU) to take courses at Horizon towards the Master of Divinity degree at Lutheran Seminary.
Horizon is an associate member of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in the United States and Canada.
