Highlights from Horizon College & Seminary’s third annual New Revival Generation Conference, November 14-15, 2025.
The simple yet powerful phrase, “There is more!” continually returns to mind in this season. With all the talks about “The Quiet Revival” happening in Gen Z and the resurgence of interest in the Bible, it is exhilarating to experience it firsthand in the prairies of SK.

Youth in worship at NRG 2025
At the New Revival Generation (NRG) Conference, it is my absolute joy to see teenagers experientially discover God’s deep and personal love, and be swept away by the ensuing curiosity of what is yet to come in their lives. NRG 2025 was no different. Horizon’s chapel was packed with Saskatchewan youth pouring out their hearts in worship and listening attentively to our guest speaker talk about the power of the gospel in everyday life.
I remember my years as an adolescent feeling discouraged from laying a hold of God’s transforming power for my life. Weekend retreats, however, were the catalyst in my high-school faith journey. When the Word of God was spoken boldly and accompanied by signs and wonders, my faith rose and I discovered that God did, in fact, have more for me to pursue. These experiences gave me the insatiable hunger to know and experience more of God, the very desire that led me to Christian education at Horizon and full-time ministry.
As I see faith collectively arise throughout NRG weekend, it thrills me to see the hope, joy, and curiosity emerge from the hearts of the youth. It eventually translates into youth begging their leaders to take them on Saturday’s evangelism trip to Saskatoon’s downtown. It is a kind of noticeable, contagious faith, one that draws even the attention of God.

Saturday Morning Guest Speaker Q&A Panel
When that happens, the unimaginable follows. We all witnessed it. Saturday morning, the guest speaker, Dr. Nick Gough received a couple words of knowledge about healing, one for an ankle and the other for a throat. During the service, when Nick asked if anyone had a sore ankle, a girl put up her hand right away and explained that she had severely injured it playing sports. In response, Nick got the youth close to her to lay their hands on her shoulders and pray for healing. Within moments, the pain in her ankle had fully disappeared!
In the next moment, Dr. Gough shared how he sensed that the Lord wanted to heal throats. In similar fashion, another youth raised her hand, sharing about her sore throat. Again, after the youth around her prayed, her throat was instantly better.
Beyond this, there had also been a youth worker who raised her hand when Nick asked about sore throats. Two individuals prayed for her in the back, but no one else had noticed. Only later, at the end of the conference, this youth worker came to me and described that six months of intense throat pain (potentially cancerous) disappeared immediately after prayer! We serve a powerful, living God!
These moments did not stay in the ministry sessions either. Many of the faith-filled youth took to the streets of downtown Saskatoon with the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit. Afterwards, during the evangelism debrief, we learned that there were at least two cases where God healed an individual. Both a shoulder and leg healing were documented. There were two prophetic words given by the youth as well. Furthermore, there were four verified acceptances of the gospel! Altogether, the brave youth initiated over forty conversations where individuals engaged in dialogue about the reality of Jesus as Lord. Talk about a revival generation!

Saturday afternoon downtown Saskatoon evangelism trip
The weekend of NRG 2025 was also enriched by testimonies from Horizon students, worship led by a local Horizon team, and a live performance by local Christian artist JJ Stone. Giveaways, gym activities and great food, also made the weekend fun to watch and participate in.
As the College Ambassador of Horizon & Seminary, it is my eager desire and expectation for the next generation to see how accessible the life and power of the Holy Spirit is. While weekends like the NRG Conference are amazing faith-fuel, I pray that the youth take the next step and discover more deeply how to build their lives upon the solid foundation of Jesus. For myself, studying at Horizon revealed how accessible the Holy Spirit is to me, empowering me to envision a life led and empowered by the Holy Spirit, and to see dreams like the NRG Conference become a reality.

At this point, the phrase “There is More!” should keep all of us who wait on Christ’s return eager to pursue and experience God’s fullness. The youth are cluing into this reality. Let’s learn from their curious, dynamic faith, while coming alongside them, giving them the mentorship and support and education they need to thrive for Spirit-empowered life and ministry.
