Horizon Seminary: A Growing Leader in Christian Higher Education in Canada

In November of 2024, Horizon Seminary hosted an important meeting with faculty and students from across Canada to reflect on the institution’s remarkable growth and share insights into its ongoing development.

The students who participated also offered their blessing and stories of how God is working in their lives, and we were encouraged immensely!

Rapid Growth

Horizon Seminary is experiencing a period of extraordinary growth, rapidly becoming one of Canada’s leading institutions for Christian higher education. Since 2019, the Seminary has seen a 124% increase in enrolment, and today, it offers four distinct programs — with more seminarians than undergraduate students!

With students coming from all across Canada, Horizon’s seminary programs are shaping the future of Christian leadership.

Horizon’s commitment to expanding its reach has led to strategic partnerships with other denominations and institutions, including a remarkable collaboration with Master’s College & Seminary in Ontario. These partnerships are helping the school extend its influence and impact, training students to serve in diverse ministry contexts both within Canada and around the world.

Inspiring Stories

The growth of Horizon is reflected not only in its academic success but also in the powerful stories of its students, faculty, and alumni:

  • Dr. Martini, President of Horizon, shared the miraculous story of the school’s partnership with Master’s College and Seminary and how God’s guidance has helped Horizon become a beacon of hope for students pursuing ministry training.
  • Heather Tomes, the coordinator of the Counselling program, spoke about how God led her to Horizon and how the counselling program is empowering students to fulfill their calling to serve others through compassionate care.

  • Paul, a graduate of Horizon, shared how the education and training he received at Horizon continues to bear fruit in his life and ministry, enabling him to make a lasting impact in the church and the wider community.
