We are completing our safety plan to ensure all students and staff are safe onsite, and we are also offering all of our courses as an online option as well. During this COVID-19 crisis, it is important that we are taking care of our mental health. The Provincial Government recently released a statement highlighting various mental health support networks in the province. They state: All Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) mental health inpatient units for adults, children and youth remain open for admissions as needed.  Community mental health sites remain open, offering most services by phone. However, they have maintained capacity to assist clients and patients in person if necessary.  Group-based services have been discontinued, but clients and patients are being contacted by phone. We're all a little anxious in the midst of this COVID-19 storm. But please remember that is is a storm - a fierce and terrible storm, for sure! - but a storm all the same and it will pass. Right now we, along with the rest of the world, are forced to bunker-down and wait it out as best we can while preserving as much life, laughter, and normalcy as we can. With the increased measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 announced by the Government of Saskatchewan this morning, Horizon will be ceasing on-campus academic and student life activities effective Friday, March 20. We will continue to offer courses for the rest of the year online via Zoom, which thankfully we are well set-up to do. We will also offer opportunities to connect weekly online for chapel and life groups. We are not completely closing our residence since this is the local "home" many have who are working in the city.
