Did you know that every dollar you donate subsidizes students by over 50% of the cost of their education? That’s massive! Unlike public colleges and universities that receive millions in government funding, as a private institution, Horizon depends on churches and individual donors like you. And we couldn’t be happier about that!
Your support has helped prepare students like Luke, this year’s valedictorian, as he serves in tech ministry at Forest Grove Community Church. Reflecting on his time at Horizon, Luke encouraged his fellow students in his valedictory address,
“Don’t keep these things to yourself. Instead, train others and do the work of making disciples – baptizing them and teaching them to obey all Jesus has commanded. I believe that each of you have ministry to do, whether you’re in formal ministry or not. So I encourage you to do it with all your heart.”

We need more students like Luke! In fact, we need hundreds of students like Luke every year!
Recently, Faith Today reported that, “evangelicalism in Canada, as a movement, needs 625 new pastors per year over the next 12 years just to deal with retirement attrition.” (Read the article)
That’s a big challenge – and YOU can be a major part of the solution!
In our last newsletter we shared that Horizon has entered a strategic partnership with Ontario school, Master’s College & Seminary (MCS). That partnership is setting us up to make a seismic impact on the Christian leadership crisis in Canada!
From our administrative centres in Saskatoon and Mississauga, Horizon and MCS are preparing to launch upwards of fifty church-based learning centres where we will prepare Christian leaders for Spirit-empowered life and ministry. Praise God – this far exceeds even our most conservative estimates of what we would launch in our first year together!
And with your help, we only expect this number to grow in years two and three together!
How can you help?
1. Pray!
And I mean it – pray! Our initial success is only because faithful people have prayed! Jesus commanded it: “Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers into the harvest field.”
2. Promote!
Horizon and MCS are connected with over 800 churches and potentially tens of thousands of individuals. I believe there are hundreds of leaders in our network waiting for someone like YOU to ENCOURAGE them to step out into leadership and into a Horizon or MCS program! Find those leaders and encourage them TODAY!
3. Provide!
We depend on YOUR donations to make our costs competitive. And this year, the start-up costs for our partnership and new technology purchases add extra expenses! Would you:
• Donate monthly $100 or $1000?
• Donate one-time towards our start-up $10,000 – $100,000?
• Donate a multi-year legacy gift?
