Global Discipleship Certificate

Global Discipleship Certificate

Overview

Horizon College and Seminary partners with Multiply to offer a Global Discipleship Certificate. This 8-month program combines three terms of studies at Horizon with six weeks of participation in ACTION, a six-week discipleship training and cross-cultural mission experience for young adults. You will experience God’s heart for the world as you serve for one month on a team of 4-10 people alongside long-term missionaries and local churches in Panama.* Students will discern their life direction while studying the Bible and essential life skills that will set them up for success in life, volunteer ministry, and future study at Horizon, university, or vocational college.
*If student registration is high, some students may serve in an alternate international location.

Duration: 8 months*

*Month duration is estimated on average full-time completion rates of 10 courses per 8-month period. Actual completion rates vary based on individual student course loads.

Unlike many discipleship programs, students who enroll in the Global Discipleship Certificate program can use RESP and student loan money to fund their participation in the program. In addition, Horizon’s program includes 6 credits that are transferable to many degree programs at the University of Saskatchewan and the whole program may be applied toward a multi-year program at Horizon.

Please note: The Global Discipleship Certificate program is not available to international students. Applicants must have citizenship or permanent residency.

Assignment Orientation is a week filled with spiritual formation, team building, and mission training. Your four-week international ministry assignment includes intercessory prayer, creative outreach, and compassion initiatives. Debrief allows you to rest, worship, and reflect on your experiences. This allows you to process your global mission experience as you prepare to reengage in mission back home.
Multiply was formerly known as MB Mission. Still based in the Mennonite Brethren family, Multiply is focused on making disciples, planting churches and growing partnerships. For more information see multiply.net/about.
