Seminary > Introduction

In 2007 the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) approved a cooperative agreement between Horizon College and Seminary in Saskatoon and Providence Theological Seminary in Otterburne, Manitoba.

This agreement created a new option for a Pentecostal Studies track within Providence’s Master of Divinity program.

To oversee the M.Div. Pentecostal Studies Track, Horizon College and Seminary appointed Dr. Ron Kadyschuk, long-term faculty member and former President of the college, to be the Dean of this seminary division.

In 2009 the cooperative agreement was expanded to include two new opportunities for graduate-level studies:

  • The M.A. (Christian Studies) program with an emphasis in Pentecostal Studies, and

  • The M.A. (Theological Studies) program with an emphasis in Pentecostal Studies.

These programs offered by Horizon and Providence provide a fine opportunity for men and women who minister and participate in Pentecostal/Charismatic settings.

Candidates are able to take graduate-level education and training with Pentecostal perspectives and without undue travel from their places of employment and ministry. Graduation from any one of these three programs confers the ATS-accredited M.Div. or M.A. degree from Providence Theological Seminary.
