Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership
Overview
The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership prepares competent Christian leaders for church, lay ministry, and other workplace roles by combining graduate-level leadership training, biblical and theological studies, and specialized ministry practicums.
Contextual Learning
In addition to specialized course work, students in this program will have the opportunity to work closely with expert leaders in ministry contexts tailored to their specific vocational interests and needs.
The 48 credit-hour program focuses on four aspects of ministry leadership:
- Leadership training – development of skills in leadership and administration
- Biblical and theological literacy – provision of the biblical and theological framework for effective ministry leadership
- Practical ministry and/or specialized areas of study – focus on practical ministry practicums or specialized courses, which enable leaders to hone their knowledge and skills in a specific area
- Spiritual formation – integration of spiritual development throughout the program

1 Students who already have an advanced undergraduate course in hermeneutics should choose an elective other than ‘Interpreting God’s Word’ in any area related to this degree.
2 Students who have a course similar to ‘Theological Foundations’ from their undergraduate degree should choose a different elective in any area related to this degree.
3 Students who have a bible or theology undergraduate degree may use this course as one of their bible and theology electives.
4 Students with significant ministry experience may choose other electives or directed studies to complete this requirement.
5 Students must complete the Summative Assessment to complete their program and graduate. This requirement will be documented as a Pass/Fail.
