Dr. K. and his wife, Barbara, have two children, Royden and Leanne, and three grandchildren. Oliviya is 9 years old and welcomed two new cousins in Summer 2018: twin girls Marlowe and Frances. Ron spends leisure time ‘hanging out’ with Oliviya, reminiscing about his days as a long distance runner, expanding his Kindle book collection, and travelling to new places with Barbara. A favourite new destination is Toronto where the twin girls live.
Ron feels deeply the privilege of mentoring students for so many years and longs to see each one grow as ‘a tree planted by the water’ (Psalm 1) with strong roots and a life lived with humility, gratitude and generosity (Colossians 2.6-7).
Dr. K. retired in 2023 and remains connected with Horizon as a Professor Emeritus.
