Announcing a new program at Horizon Seminary! In Fall 2021, we will launch a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counselling (MAPC).

This degree will equip ministry leaders to serve as counsellors in a variety of ministry-based settings: local church, chaplaincy, or non-profit organizations. The distinct nature of the program lies in its integration of spiritual formation, biblical and theological study, and counselling courses. This combination of training, as well as the required practicum for the degree, provides a well-rounded preparation for counselling ministry.

We are also thrilled to introduce the program’s coordinator, Heather Tomes.

A Saskatchewan girl at heart, Heather travelled to over 15 countries around the world as a global worker before returning to Saskatoon to serve as the first female Executive Director at Christian Counselling Services, and then as the Clinical Director.

Heather is a Registered Psychologist with Authorized Practice Endorsement (#772; Saskatchewan College of Psychologists), has a Master of Education in School and Counselling Psychology (University of Saskatchewan), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with Honours from the University of Saskatchewan.
