It is assumed that basic responsibility for financing studies
rests with the students and his or her parents. However,
we recognize that some students do not have adequate personal
or family resources to finance their educational expenses.
The following services of financial assistance are available
to students who apply to Horizon: Canada Student Loans and
Bursaries, Entry Level Scholarships, and Professionals’
Discounts (please see below). A number of scholarships are
also presented at graduation; please see the Awards and
Scholarships section.
Canada Student Loans and Bursaries
Horizon College & Seminary is a designated college under
the Canada Student Loan Program. This qualifies students
to apply for various sponsored loan programs as well as
the national program. Application forms for assistance administered
by the Saskatchewan Government are available in the College
office. As a general rule, students in the Three Year Theology,
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity
programs are discouraged from taking large, long-term loans
which would prove burdensome upon entering the ministry.
Students expecting to arrange loans should make arrangements
before summer. Complete information about Student Loans
is available at the following address:

Millennium Scholarships are funded by an independent foundation
but administered by the Provincial Student Aid offices.
In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the scholarship and other
available grants are applied to student loans. In Ontario,
the scholarship is mailed to the College, but is made payable
to the student.
