Program History

The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) has developed several options for graduate-level theological training with Pentecostal perspectives but without having to establish a free-standing Pentecostal seminary.

In 2007 the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) approved a new agreement between Horizon College and Seminary and Providence Theological Seminary in Otterburne, Manitoba. This agreement created a Pentecostal Studies track within Providence’s Master of Divinity program.

To oversee the M.Div. Pentecostal Studies Track, Horizon College and Seminary established an administrative arm called Horizon Pentecostal Seminary. The Board of Governors of Horizon appointed Dr. Ron Kadyschuk, long-term faculty member and former President of the college, to be the Dean of this seminary division.

The Master of Divinity Pentecostal Studies Track offered by Horizon Pentecostal Seminary and Providence Theological Seminary provides a fine opportunity for men and women who worship and minister in Pentecostal settings. They are able to take graduate-level education and training with Pentecostal perspectives but without undue travel from their places of employment and ministry.

Contact Dr. Kadyschuk at rkadyschuk@horizon.edu for more information about the program.
