On Saturday April 19, graduates and their
families gathered at TCU Place in Saskatoon
for our annual graduation banquet.
Rev. Brian Glubish, our New Testament
professor who has just left the college,
gave a dynamic farewell address to the
graduates.
The college community celebrated our
Graduation Exercises at Westside Pentecostal
Church on Sunday morning, April 20.
Dr. Giesbrecht presented Rev. H.H. Barber
an honorary doctorate degree after which Dr.
Barber shared an inspiring convocation
message. |

Global Missions
Force: April 21, 2008 |

Global Missions Force in
Nepal. On April 21, the Global
Missions Force/YWAM team returned to Canada
from a three
month missions trip to Nepal. A special
graduation ceremony was held for the team on
Tuesday, April 22, since they were not able
to be here for the Graduation weekend. Click

Contemporary Issues in
Youth Ministries Horizon hosted a
training seminar for 60 youth ministry
leaders on Friday evening and Saturday,
March 7 & 8, 2008. Marv Penner, Professor
of Youth Ministries at Briercrest College,
led sessions on:
- Empowering and Equipping Parents
- Today's Youth Culture
- Challenge of Church Kids
- Helping Hurting Youth
- Communicating to Transform

Pentecostal Theology: Jan.14-18, 2008 |

Rev. Bill Griffin -
theologian, educator, and national leader in
the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada - led a
motivated class of pastors and Horizon
students in the study of the 'roots and
offshoots' of Pentecostal theology. This
was the first course offered on Horizon
campus in our new cooperative M.Div. program
with Providence Theological Seminary.

On January 7-11, two module courses 'kicked
off' the new semester at Horizon:

Cross-Cultural
Communication Dr. Ken Birch,
missionary to West Africa and Chancellor of
Pan Africa Christian University (in Nairobi,
Kenya) led upper-year students in a study of
contemporary approaches to cross-cultural
communication. Outreach and Evangelism
Dr. Gerry Michalski, pastor of Soul
Sanctuary (in Winnipeg, Manitoba), led
first-year students in a study of principles
and practices for sharing faith with other
people.
Horizon offers two module courses each year
during the first week of classes in
September and again in January.
This schedule allows us to bring experienced
practitioners on campus to share their
learning with our students. |

concert!
On Friday November 23, over 400 excited
participants attended a
concert with Tree63 held at Elim Tabernacle in
Saskatoon. |

Name Change
Celebration: Oct. 22, 2007 |

Horizon alumni, students,
and other guests came together on Monday
October 22 to celebrate the changing of our college name
to Horizon College & Seminary. The
evening included a banquet in the Dining
Hall, the unveiling of a Dedication Plaque
in the wall beside the Chapel-Auditorium,
and a program of worship and sharing. |

Exciting news! We have changed our name!
On May 1st, 2007, the Manitoba/Northwestern
Ontario and Saskatchewan Districts voted to
change the name of Central Pentecostal
College to Horizon College & Seminary.
During the Saskatchewan District conference
the new name was announced in an exciting
ceremony. |

Seminary - our college has a long history of preparing ministry leaders since
its inception in 1935.
Now we are expanding our horizons as we develop new approaches to leadership
