  • Community Event Liason

    New Life Community Church: Kindersley, Saskatchewan

     

    This is a temporary paid position being offered for the approximate dates of June 1, 2013-Aug. 30, 2013.

     

    BACKGROUND

    New Life is a small family church located in the heart of south western Saskatchewan’s oil patch. Kindersley is a town of about 5000 people that acts as a regional centre for many more people.  The church’s desire is to love the community that God has placed us in. This love needs to be expressed in a way that people can see and understand. It is for that purpose the church is launching a new ministry to the community.

     

    LIFE SUPPORT will attempt to meet people where they are and will allow us to engage many  people that may never find their way into our church, or any church!! LIFE SUPPORT is a ministry that consists of five air bounce inflatables, including a 40ft long obstacle course . These bouncers will be travelling to any community event within the church’s trading area. We will offer the use and supervision of these bouncers free of charge to any community event and organization. AS well it is our desire to take LIFE SUPPORT on random DRIVE BY ministry times. Traveling to various parts of Kindersley and surrounding communities to bless the kids and families that we are called to serve.

     

    THE POSITION

    The successful candidate duties will include, but may not be limited to  the following :

    1. Researching, sourcing and contacting  various community events that LIFE SUPPORT can be a part of, thus connecting the ministry with as many people as possible. Being a liaison between the church and community event organizers.
    2. Overseeing and participating in the safe, delivery, set-up and operation of the air bouncers at events.
    3. Scheduling and supervising a possible second staff member as well as volunteers at events. Insuring there is adequate staffing at all events.
    4. Assisting the church in implementing its abuse prevention program.
    5. For the right candidate additional duties may also include preaching and worship leading.

     

    THE CANDIDATE

    Reporting to the senior Pastor

    1. Will be A devoted Christ follower who is ministry minded, with a servants heart. Teachable with a willingness to develop some practical ministry tools and skills.
    2. Thrives on developing new relationships and enjoys building stronger connections with others. Their first thought and motivation is always a love and compassion for others.
    3. Has a proven ability to lead, and can encourage other people to become more devoted Christ followers.  Their leadership encourages others to use and develop their own giftings and abilities.
    4. Is a motivated worker who is self-directed and able to set and prioritize multiple tasks. Someone who is consistently looking for ways to serve and contribute to the ministry. They are a multiplier of productivity and by their thoughts, words and actions allow  others to do the same.
    5. Must have a valid driver’s licence and be legally able to work in Canada

  • Children's Ministry Pastor

    Covenant of Life Ministries is searching for the right candidate for a full-time Children's Pastor position. The candidate must be passionate about kids and raising them up to live for the Lord.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages birth – 6th grade, including Sunday mornings, Tuesday night Bible Studies, special events, etc…
    • Choose and prepare curriculum for each program and each age level.
    • Create environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.
    • Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.

  • Children's Ministry Summer Students

    Westgate Alliance Church: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

     

    Westgate Alliance Church is an evangelical church with solid teaching based on the written Word of God.  Our purpose is to impact our world by being a loving community of fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.  We are looking for summer students in children’s ministries.

     

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Co-leading a summer day camp for school age children in our community.  Duties include planning outings, crafts, Bible teaching, etc.
    • Preparing and presenting weekly Bible lessons for children
    • Planning a preschool VBS
    • Planning outreach events for children


    Requirements:

    • Experience working with children
    • Applicant must be returning to a post-secondary institution in fall 2013
    • Preference will be given to students who have attended or are attending an accredited Bible college
    • Musical, artistic and theatrical ability is an asset
    • A current criminal record check


    This position will require 30 – 40 hours per week from May to the end of August.  Hourly salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

    Rock Solid Refuge is a faith-based not-for-profit organization in Saskatchewan that provides a 12- 15 month residential program that deals with adolescent boys ages 13-18 that have made poor life choices which have lead to serious life controlling issues. This program encompasses spiritual, academic and vocational training, based on a Christ centered approach and Biblical principles, to equip the student to return to society as a responsible citizen.
