Mission

Advancing God’s Kingdom by preparing competent Christian leaders for Spirit-empowered life and ministry.

Vision

We see students confidently emerging from Horizon in the power of the Spirit, dependent on Jesus Christ, and selflessly following His lead into their unique vocational, missional, and ministry callings.

Our Values

We will uphold our mission with integrity through the following core, rank-ordered values:

1. Dependence

Our lives are based on the authority of the Word of God and lived out by the power of the Spirit, in authentic personal relationship with Jesus Christ and collectively in our relationships within our college community.

2. Relationship

We affirm individual worth and diversity within our community. We accept, respect, care for and encourage one another, our students, alumni, churches, and donors as Jesus modeled for us.

3. Competency

We, as educators in a dynamic society and culture, are growing in our understanding and abilities, providing relevant application of biblical truth to a ever changing student body.

4. Environment

We provide an environment that fosters intellectual development as well as Pentecostal experience, enabling staff, faculty, and students to grow in their giftings and calling.

Creation Care

_DSC0039As a Christian organization, we recognize that we are responsible to care for God’s good creation and the people in it.

We practise and encourage recycling on our campus and have implemented policies such as banning the use of Styrofoam for college functions. Although it sometimes costs a little more, we increasingly purchase our promotional materials only from vendors that are fair trade, ethically sourced, and environmentally sound.

We know there is still much more we need to do, and we invite you to join us on our journey of discipleship in the care of God’s good creation.
